World Book Day - News Letter
On Friday 9th March 2018, we will be celebrating World Book Day here at Wyken Croft. We have chosen this day especially to coincide with the grand opening of our newly improved school library. The theme for this year’s World Book Day event is “share a story for 10 minutes.” We will be following this theme, ensuring the children celebrate their love of books and have the opportunity to take part in some really fun book-related activities for the day.
To make this already wonderful day even more special, we would love for the children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or author. For example, they could come dressed as an animal from ‘Dear Zoo’ (in your onesie), a character from ‘Goosebumps’ re-using your Halloween outfit, come dressed as ‘Matilda’ or in your pyjamas and slippers with your favourite bedtime story!
Attached to this letter is a fun reading challenge for your child to complete over half term. We can’t wait to see your photos of you completing the challenges on Twitter at #Wykenreaders.
Thank you for all your support and enthusiasm for reading at home.
