    Dear Parents /Carers,

As this term draws to a close, I am relieved that we are finally leaving the wintry weather behind us and are starting to see the signs of spring that we have been waiting for. This week the days have been longer and slightly warmer and school has been overwhelmed with chickens, eggs and Easter bonnets!

    14/03/18

This week, our year 3 classes had taken a trip to Twycross Zoo, in over two days learning about not only the animal life but also getting to see them up close and personal as well as building enclosures out of legos, enjoying the wonderful sites despite one day it was rainy and the other was sunny. No matter what the weather, the students enjoyed it and would enjoy to go again. Next time, watch out if wet for those muddy puddles!.

  • World Book Day - Recap and Event Gallery.¬†

    14/03/18

Last friday, we celebrated our World Book Day by getting the students to come dressed in their favourite book character or if they didn't have a costume to come in pyjamas. We had fun activites to do through out the day such as paired reading which meant two different year groups, the older students would be in groups with the younger year readers and a book quote hunt to match the famous words to a known story, also making good use of reading in the new library which is being put to good use.

The children all had a great day and our staff, we are looking forward to the next world book day.

  • World Book Day - News Letter

    08/03/18

    Dear Parents/Carers

On Friday 9th March 2018, we will be celebrating World Book Day here at Wyken Croft. We have chosen this day especially to coincide with the grand opening of our newly improved school library. The theme for this year’s World Book Day event is “share a story for 10 minutes.” We will be following this theme, ensuring the children celebrate their love of books and have the opportunity to take part in some really fun book-related activities for the day.
